What's the New Year Hold?

As we come to the end of a fruitful and blessed year, and look into the unchartered future, questions arise concerning what's ahead.  Someone once told me, "The future is as bright as the promises of God." (Amen!)  One time a reporter asked Mrs. Albert Einstein if she understood the theory of relativity.  She responded, "I don't, but Albert does, and I trust Albert." I don't know what the future holds, but I know the One who holds the future--and you can trust Him.

Faith trusts God for the future and obeys Him in the present.  Jim Elliot the missionary said, "Wherever you are, live to the fullest for God.  Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God; live with a fervor for God today."  I like that.  When I get out of bed each morning and by the time my feet hit the floor, I ask God what neat thing are we going to do together today?  William James wrote, "Faith is either a dull habit or an acute fever."  We need to "get the fever" and live to the uttermost the Christian life as outlined in God's inerrant word.

Here's to an exciting, profitable, and productive New Year for the Saviour--get excited, get involved, and get busy--be all you can be . . . for Him!

He told me to tell you,
